Mere Brook
This is Mere Brook, in Great Torrington. It's one of seven cottages in a converted mill by the river. The place is called Town Mills. It's a Grade II listed building, about two hundred years old.
Mere Brook sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both with their own bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. The stairs are typical for an old building, so watch your head in a couple of spots.
You get a sunroom at the front. It's a quiet spot to sit. The kitchen looks out over the shared gardens towards the river. The lounge has a view of the old waterwheel, which is still there in the leat outside.
On site, there's a shared indoor swimming pool. You can book it for private slots. There's also a games room with pool and table football, and a fenced play area for children by the river. The grounds are shared, so you might see the peacocks wandering about.
You're on the edge of Great Torrington. There's a supermarket and a few pubs in the town, about a ten-minute walk. The Tarka Trail for cycling and walking is right on the doorstep. The RHS Garden at Rosemoor is literally next door.
For the coast, Westward Ho! is about twenty minutes' drive. Instow and its long beach is maybe fifteen. Exmoor is half an hour away. Arlington Court is a good National Trust day out, about twenty-five minutes.
In terms of what's here: bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and parking. It's pet-friendly, for up to two dogs. We provide a cot and highchair if you need them.
