Beaford House
Beaford House is a big country house near Beaford village. It's for large groups, sleeping 21 across ten bedrooms. It gets busy, but it's built for it. Most bedrooms have their own bathroom.
The kitchen has an Aga. It works fine, but if you're not used to one, it takes a bit of figuring out. The dining room is large, good for a big meal or a special occasion.
Outside, there's a private swimming pool and a hot tub. The garden is large with different places to sit. There's a play area for children. You can walk to the village pub, about three quarters of a mile.
You're out in the countryside here. The nearest shop is in Great Torrington, about five miles away. They've got supermarkets and what you'd need. The closest beach is Instow. It's sand and mud, good for paddling and crabbing. For a long sandy beach, Woolacombe and Saunton are a drive, but they're some of the best.
Local things within half an hour: the Tarka Trail for cycling, RHS Garden Rosemoor, and Dartmoor for walking. For a day out, The Big Sheep is popular with families.
The house is also a registered wedding venue. There's a separate function room available if you wanted to use it for an event.
Facilities: all the bedding and towels are included. There's WiFi, a washing machine, dishwasher, and parking for several cars. You can bring up to three dogs. There's a cot and highchair.
