Skirr
Skirr is one of the cottages at Town Mills, just outside Great Torrington. The whole place is an old mill, Grade II listed. It's on the river.
The cottage is all on the ground floor, which is good if stairs are a problem. It sleeps four, with a double bedroom and a twin. There's one bathroom.
Inside, the main room is open-plan with a big inglenook fireplace and a wood burner. The kitchen looks out into the courtyard. The front door opens onto the main garden.
The site has a few shared things. There's an indoor swimming pool, kept warm. You can book it for just your group. There's a games room with a pool table and table football. Outside, there's a kids' play area with swings and a slide, down by the river but safely fenced. Sometimes peacocks wander around the garden.
The RHS Gardens at Rosemoor are right next door. Great Torrington is about a mile away for shops. The Tarka Trail is nearby for cycling or walking. Torrington Common is next to the property, with lots of footpaths.
The coast is about a 20 minute drive. Westward Ho! has a long sandy beach. Instow is good too. Clovelly, with its steep cobbled street, is about half an hour away.
Included in the price: bedding, towels, electricity. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, and wifi. Parking is on site. You can bring up to two dogs.
