The Linhay is on the Webbery Manor Estate at Stony Cross. It's a detached cottage. We're up in the Devon hills, so it's quiet. You get views over the Taw and Torridge estuaries.
It sleeps four in two bedrooms. Both bedrooms have their own ensuite bathrooms. That's quite handy. The place has a 5 Star rating, so it's well equipped and finished to a high standard.
The cottage has its own patio and garden area. The estate itself is about 30 acres of parkland and woods. There are sheep grazing and you'll see deer and birds of prey. The kitchen gardens are walled and organic. You can help yourself to some vegetables if they're in season. Things like Romanesco or Pink Fir Apple potatoes.
Facilities are what you'd expect: WiFi, TV, a washing machine, a woodburning stove. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. You can bring one dog.
The nearest shops and pubs are about five miles away in the market town of Bideford. It's a working harbour with a weekly market. There's fishing and horse riding within five miles too. For a walk on the coast, the National Trust looks after a lot of it. The wider area is managed as the North Devon National Landscape.
If you're driving, Exmoor National Park is within about half an hour. The coast at Westward Ho! is about twenty minutes away.
