Folly View is a detached house just outside Bishop's Tawton village. It's a modern build, not a cottage. The main thing is the view from the front. You look straight across the Taw valley.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms upstairs. Two doubles and one that's a super king but they can make it up as twins if you ask. There are two bathrooms, one with a shower and one with a bath. The stairs are fine, they're normal.
Downstairs is one big open room, shaped like a horseshoe. The kitchen's at one end, the dining table in the middle, and the living area around the corner. It has a wood burner. Patio doors lead to the front terrace.
The garden is split over a couple of levels. There's a lawn, and a big terrace with furniture. You can see Tawstock Castle from there at night.
Bishop's Tawton has a thatched pub, about a ten minute walk. Barnstaple is two miles for shops and supermarkets.
Instow is about seven miles west. It has a sandy beach on the estuary and a few places to eat. Appledore is just across the water from there. Bideford is a bit further on.
The big north Devon beaches like Saunton, Croyde, and Woolacombe are within half an hour by car. They're good for surfing.
The Tarka Trail is nearby for cycling or walking. It follows the old railway. For bigger walks, Exmoor National Park or the South West Coast Path are within easy reach.
Facilities: everything's included. Wifi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher, parking. It's rated 4 Star. You can bring up to two dogs.
