Kingsleys Lodge is a new build, finished in 2022. It's on the first floor of a building in a quiet part of Barnstaple. It's just for two people.
It's a one-bedroom place. The bedroom has a king-size bed and its own shower room. The shower is a decent size. The main room is all open plan: kitchen, living area, and dining space. There’s a set of French doors with a Juliet balcony. It gets good light. It has air conditioning, which is handy.
You get a private parking space right outside. Just across the driveway there's a small patio area with a table and chairs. It's sheltered.
It's a 4 Star rating. That means it's modern, clean, and well-equipped.
The location is residential, so it's quiet, but you're only about a mile and a half from Barnstaple town centre. You can drive in or walk it along the river path. Barnstaple has the usual shops, a pannier market, and a few places to eat. The Tarka Trail starts in town. It's good for a flat walk or a bike ride. You can follow it to Instow or Bideford.
For the coast, you're about a 20-minute drive from Saunton, Croyde, and Woolacombe. Westward Ho! is a bit further. The National Trust looks after a lot of the coastline here.
Inland, Exmoor is about half an hour's drive. It's good for walks and dark skies. Exmoor National Park has the details.
You can bring one dog. There's a cot if you need it. All bedding and towels are included. There's WiFi and a TV.
