West Brae
This is West Brae. It's a bungalow in Bishop's Tawton, just outside Barnstaple. The main thing is the view from the back, down over the valley. It's a good view.
It's a 4 Star place. That means it's well kept and has everything you need. It sleeps four, in two double rooms. There's one bathroom. Everything is on one floor once you're inside.
You need to know there are sixteen steps down from the gate to the front door. So it's not suitable if steps are a problem. The garden is about an acre, sloping down towards the view.
Inside, it's open plan at the back where the big window is. Kitchen, dining area, and sitting area all together. There's a utility room with a washing machine, a dishwasher, and a cot and highchair if you need them. Bedding and towels are included. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
The village has a pub. Barnstaple is two miles away for shops. For a nice beach and a walk, Instow is about seven miles. It's got sand dunes, a beach, and a couple of pubs. Arlington Court is nearby if you like that sort of thing.
The Tarka Trail, which is good for walking and cycling, runs right past the front of the property. You can follow it north to Braunton and the coast, or south towards Dartmoor.
The bigger North Devon beaches like Saunton, Croyde, and Woolacombe are within a twenty to thirty minute drive. For a day out, Exmoor National Park and the coast path are about forty minutes away.
