This is Grooms Cottage. It's a stone cottage on the Webbery Manor Estate near Stony Cross. You're up in the Devon hills here, on a quiet estate.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, and each has its own bathroom. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's been checked and it's comfortable and well-equipped. It's not huge but it's solid and well looked after.
You're surrounded by the estate's land, about 30 acres of it. There are woods and parkland with sheep grazing. You'll see deer and hear owls at night. The main gardens are lovely, especially in spring with the rhododendrons out. They grow vegetables in the walled garden. You're welcome to take some if things are ready, things like Romanesco broccoli or unusual potatoes.
The cottage has a wood burning stove, which is good for cooler evenings. There's a patio and garden area for yourselves. It has WiFi, TV, a washing machine, and parking right there. We can provide a cot and highchair. One well-behaved dog is allowed.
The nearest shops and pubs are about five miles away in the villages. Bideford is the main town, about a 20 minute drive. It's a proper working harbour with a market. You've got fishing and horse riding within five miles if that's your thing. There's a golf course nearby too.
For a bigger day out, you can drive to the North Devon coast or into Dartmoor, both within about half an hour. Useful links if you're planning: National Trust Devon and Dartmoor National Park.
