Waters Edge is in Instow, right on the estuary. The beach is basically across the road. You can see the water from most of the front windows.
It sleeps seven. There are three bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. The house is furnished in a New England style, so it's light and airy. The main living room is upstairs, which is a bit unusual. It has French doors that open onto a small balcony. It's a good spot to watch the boats.
Because it's an old waterside house, the stairs are quite steep and narrow. Something to be aware of.
There's a small, enclosed courtyard garden. It has a kennel out there if you bring a dog. Parking is on site, which is a relief in Instow.
The village shop and a couple of pubs are a few minutes' walk away. The beach is sand and dunes, good for kids and walking. The Tarka Trail runs past the end of the lane if you want to cycle or walk without traffic.
Bideford is about three miles away for bigger shops. Places like Westward Ho!, Croyde, and Woolacombe for surfing beaches are within a half hour drive. Exmoor is about forty minutes. For local days out, the National Trust's Arlington Court is worth a visit.
For facilities, it has the basics covered: wifi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. A cot and highchair are there if you need them.
It lets dogs, but only one at a time.
