The cottage is called Ash. It's a lower ground floor apartment in Bideford, looking out over a nature reserve.
It sleeps six. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. One bedroom has a super king size bed that can be two singles, plus a day bed. The other has the same super king option plus a single bed. It's a four star rating, which is about right. You access it via stairs, so it's not suitable if you have trouble walking.
Inside, there's a kitchen with a dishwasher and a coffee machine. The lounge has a large double sofa bed. Outside, you share some facilities with the other apartment, Oak. There's a big deck with seating, paths around the garden, and a swimming pool open from May to September. There's also a covered hot tub you can book for private use, but it's only for children aged 12 and over.
On site parking is included, as is bedding and towels. There's WiFi and a TV. A cot and highchair are available if you need them. You can bring up to two dogs.
Bideford is about three miles from Westward Ho! beach and four from Instow beach. The South West Coast Path is close by for walking. The Tarka Trail is popular for cycling, you can pick it up on the same side of the river. It follows an old railway line to places like Instow and Barnstaple.
Further out, within about thirty minutes, you've got places like the surfing beaches at Croyde and Saunton Sands. For a different day out, you can get a boat from Bideford to Lundy Island. The Big Sheep farm park and the Ultimate Adventure Centre are both nearby if you've got children. Exmoor National Park is also within easy reach for driving.
