Riverside

Riverside is in Great Torrington, Devon. It's a four-bedroom cottage that sleeps eight, part of the old stable block at Town Mills on the River Torridge. The property is a 4 Star, so it's comfortable and well-equipped rather than brand new.

You have two bedrooms downstairs. One is a double with an en-suite bathroom. The other is a twin. Both rooms have French doors that open out. The main bathroom is also downstairs, with a shower over the bath. Upstairs there are two more twin rooms.

The main thing people like is the private veranda. It overlooks the river. You can sit out there with a coffee or an evening drink. You might see herons, or if you're very lucky, an otter. It's peaceful.

On site there's a shared indoor swimming pool. It's kept warm, around 31 degrees. You can book it for private use. There's also a games room with a pool table and table football, and a fenced play area for children with swings and a slide.

The cottage itself has a garden area that's just for you. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. You can bring up to two dogs.

Great Torrington is about a mile away for shops and pubs. The Tarka Trail is right there for walking or cycling. The RHS Garden at Rosemoor is literally next door. It's a proper day out if you like gardens.

The North Devon coast is about a twenty minute drive. Westward Ho! has a long sandy beach. Instow is good for families. Clovelly is a bit further, maybe 40 minutes, but it's unique. Lundy Island boat trips leave from Bideford, which is about 15 minutes away by car.

Useful links if you're planning: National Trust Devon, Exmoor National Park, and RHS Garden Rosemoor.
