The Granary
The Granary is a barn conversion on our farm in Upcott, near Shirwell. It's a quiet spot, just fields and sheep out the back.
It sleeps four. Three bedrooms and one bathroom. The rating is 3 Star, which is accurate. It's comfortable and clean, not luxury. You get the whole place to yourselves. The main room has the original timber frame, so the ceiling is high. There's a woodburning stove for cooler nights.
It's a working farm, so you'll see tractors and hear animals sometimes. The garden is enclosed and there's a BBQ. Parking is right outside.
We accept up to two well-behaved dogs. There's a washing machine, and bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair if you need them.
For beaches, Saunton Sands and Woolacombe are about a twenty-five minute drive. Croyde is a bit closer. Barnstaple is the nearest proper town, about fifteen minutes away for supermarkets.
If you want a walk, Arlington Court is nearby. It's National Trust, so the house and grounds are well kept. Useful link: Arlington Court. Exmoor is about half an hour's drive for bigger walks.
