The Granary is a converted stone barn in Upcott. It's set back from a quiet lane, overlooking fields. It's just outside the village of Shirwell.
It sleeps four. There are three bedrooms, but one is pretty small with bunk beds, best for two kids really. One bathroom with a shower. The rating is 3 Star, so it's comfortable but not high-end. There's a woodburner in the main room, which is nice on cooler evenings.
The front is a paved patio with a table and chairs and a BBQ. It gets the sun in the afternoon. You can bring two dogs. There's parking right by the door.
Inside, it's all on one level once you're in, which is handy. Everything you'd need is there: washing machine, TV, and all the bedding and towels are included. We've got a cot and a highchair too.
Location wise, it's quiet. The nearest pub is about a mile away in Shirwell. For a shop, you'd drive to Braunton or Barnstaple.
The north Devon beaches are a big draw. Saunton Sands and Woolacombe are about a twenty minute drive. Good for walking, surfing, or just sitting. The local walking is good straight from the door, though some of the lanes are narrow so be careful.
Further afield, Exmoor is about half an hour's drive. Arlington Court is nearby if you like that sort of thing. Barnstaple has the usual town facilities and a railway station.
