Strawberry Cottage
Strawberry Cottage is in Combe Martin. It's a detached cottage, so no one either side of you. It's up on a bit of a hill so you get a good view over the fields from the back garden.
It's just been completely renovated so everything inside is new and works properly. It sleeps two, one bedroom and one shower room. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's well-equipped and comfortable. The bedroom has some of the old stone walls and beams showing, which is nice.
There's underfloor heating in the shower room, so it's never cold underfoot. The main room is all open plan: kitchen, dining table, and sitting area with a wood burning stove. The garden at the back is private, a proper spot to sit out. You can bring one well-behaved dog.
The local beach in Combe Martin is about two miles away. It's good for a swim and the sunsets are great there. You're right on the edge of Exmoor National Park so the walking is brilliant straight from the door. The South West Coast Path runs through here.
Within half an hour you've got Woolacombe Beach, which is award-winning and good for families. Croyde is nearby for surfing. Ilfracombe is about ten minutes away by car. That's where the harbour is, and Damien Hirst's big statue 'Verity'. You can get boat trips from there to see seals or go over to Lundy Island.
If you fancy a different kind of walk or cycle, the Tarka Trail is on a disused railway line, so it's flat and easy going. Lynton and Lynmouth, with their cliff railway, are about a 25 minute drive.
Facilities: it's got a TV, WiFi, parking, and bedding and towels are included. It has some accessible features and a wheelchair-accessible entrance, but it's best to check the specifics with us if that's important for your stay.
