The Shippen
The Shippen is a cottage in Berrynarbor. It's a small village that wins 'best kept village' competitions. It's quiet, with not much traffic. There's a community shop and a 16th century pub, both are about half a mile away.

It's at the bottom of Sterridge Valley. You're two miles from the edge of Exmoor and from Combe Martin beach, which is good for rock pools. You can walk to the South West Coast Path from here.
Ilfracombe is four miles away. They have an indoor pool, a golf course, and the theatre there. Woolacombe's big sandy beach is about eight miles.
For a day out, you can drive to Lynton and Lynmouth. They're connected by a water-powered cliff railway. Barnstaple is about twenty minutes away for its pannier market and leisure centre.
