Granary
The Granary is in Trimstone, which is about three miles from the coast at Woolacombe. It's one of several cottages and apartments here on the estate. It sleeps eight. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms.
It's got a 3 Star rating. That means it's comfortable and clean, but not luxurious. The layout is open plan.
The main reason people book here is for the shared facilities on the estate. There's an indoor heated swimming pool, a sauna, a small gym, a games room, and a tennis court. The grounds are large, with fields and a formal garden. We keep chickens, geese, and some more unusual birds like peacocks and emus. You'll see them about.
There's a pub within walking distance. The on-site restaurant is only open for breakfast and afternoon teas, not lunch or dinner. They can give you a list of good local places to eat.
For the beach, Woolacombe is the closest. The sand is great. Croyde and Saunton are also nearby if you want to try surfing. Braunton Burrows, the sand dunes, are an Area of Special Scientific Interest.
Braunton village is about three miles away for shops. Ilfracombe is a bit further and has a harbour. You can get fishing trips there. Barnstaple is the main town and has a theatre, cinema, and a market.
Within half an hour's drive you've got a lot. Exmoor National Park is accessible. There's the Tarka Trail for cycling. Clovelly village is worth a visit. Appledore is good for crabbing. For rainy days, places like The Big Sheep or RHS Garden Rosemoor work.
Facilities in the cottage: it has a dishwasher, washing machine, TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's a highchair and a cot if you need them. You can bring up to two dogs. There is parking on site.
