The Garden Cottage
The Garden Cottage is in Boode, Devon, about a mile and a half from Braunton. It's part of our house, but it's completely separate with its own front door and garden. You get the garden to yourselves.
The cottage sleeps five. There are three bedrooms upstairs and one bathroom downstairs. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and in good order. The floors are slate downstairs. You'll want slippers for padding around.
It's very quiet here. It's basically just our house and the farm across the lane. You can start a walk from the front gate. The walk to Braunton along the lanes takes about 30 minutes, if you fancy it.
Braunton has all the shops you'd need, plus pubs and cafes. That's your gateway to Saunton Sands and Croyde Bay for the beach, which is about a ten minute drive. For surfing, Croyde is the main spot. Saunton is huge and good for long walks.
If you want to go further, Exmoor is about 45 minutes drive. The South West Coast Path is all along the coast here. For a day out, Ilfracombe has the harbour and Lynton & Lynmouth are up on the cliffs.
The facilities are pretty standard: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, wifi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring one well-behaved dog. There's parking right outside.
