Blue Beach House

Blue Beach House is in Ilfracombe on the harbour. It's terraced. The house is right on the water, maybe ten yards to the beach. When they say beach, it's the harbour beach, so it's pebble and sand. You're right in the middle of everything.

It sleeps six. Three bedrooms. Sounds like a lot but there are four bathrooms, two are en-suite and one has its own bathroom just outside the door. So no queues in the morning.

It's got a 5 Star rating. That means it's done to a high spec, new things, that sort of standard. It's a luxury property so the fixtures are good.

The main living space is the kitchen and dining room on the ground floor. It leads out onto a patio. You sit out there and watch the boats in the harbour. The tide comes right in. There's another living room upstairs with the same view.

You are in the centre of town. The shop is fifty yards, a pub is ten yards, restaurants are twenty yards. It's very convenient but it is a working harbour, so there can be some noise. Gulls, people, boats. If you want total quiet, this isn't it.

The famous Verity statue is on the pier. You can't miss it. The Victorian Tunnels Beaches are a short walk, they're carved into the cliffs. Worth seeing.

For a proper sandy beach, you drive. Woolacombe and Croyde are about twenty minutes away. They're good for surfing. Exmoor is about half an hour inland if you want moorland walks.

Facilities are all there: WiFi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. It says it takes one pet. There's a stairgate too.
