Ashley Cottage
This is Ashley Cottage. It's in Combe Martin village, right on the high street. The beach is a couple of minutes walk downhill.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's a 3 Star place. It's clean and does the job.
The stairs are an issue. They're steep and narrow. I'd say they're a bit much for very small children or anyone who isn't steady on their feet. They're just cottage stairs, but I wanted to be clear.
You can walk to most things. There's a shop, a few pubs, and places to eat very close. The beach here is good for rock pools. For proper surfing, you'd drive to Croyde or Woolacombe, which are about 20-30 minutes away.
The house has a small enclosed garden out the back. Parking is on site, which is useful here. You can bring one dog. There's a wood burner, wifi, and a washing machine.
For days out, Exmoor is just inland. The South West Coast Path runs through the village. Ilfracombe is ten minutes drive. There's also Combe Martin Wildlife Park just up the road if you have kids.
