Hornblower is an apartment in a building called The Admiral’s House in Ilfracombe harbour. It's one of five in the building. The main thing is the view. You look straight out over the harbour and the beach from the living room and bedrooms. You can watch the fishing boats come and go.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating so it's comfortable and well kitted out. Everything is open plan downstairs. You get your own parking space, which is useful in Ilfracombe.
You're right on the harbour. You can walk to everything in a few minutes. There are pubs, shops, and cafes. Damien Hirst's restaurant, The Quay, is just there. The Landmark Theatre is about a five minute walk.
The coastal path starts right outside the front door. You can walk up to Hillsborough Nature Reserve for the views, or along to Hele Bay. The harbour beach is sandy and just below you for a paddle.
Boats go out from the harbour for trips and fishing. In summer, the ferry to Lundy Island leaves from here. Sometimes the Waverley paddle steamer calls in for coastal cruises.
For days out, the surfing beaches at Croyde and Woolacombe are a short drive. Exmoor is close. There are National Trust properties nearby like Arlington Court. The cliff railway at Lynton and Lynmouth is about half an hour away.
Facilities wise: it's all included. Wifi, TV, washing machine. Bedding and towels are provided. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. You can bring one dog.
