Granny Bond's Farmhouse is in Tythecott, about five miles from the north Devon coast. It's our old family place on a working dairy farm, so you'll see cows in the fields around it. It's at the end of a private track so it's quiet. The views are good.
The house itself sleeps six. Three bedrooms and one family bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean, but it's an old farmhouse, not a new build. You should expect low beams and doors. The stairs are average for a house this age.
Inside, there's a wood burning stove in the living room. We leave wood for you. There's a dishwasher and a washing machine. All the bedding is included. The garden is enclosed and there's parking right outside.
We accept up to two dogs. There's a stairgate and a cot if you need them.
The village pub is about a mile and a half away. It's a 13th century thatched place and does decent food. The coast at Westward Ho! is about five miles by car. It's a big sandy beach, good for surfing. Bideford is the nearest proper town.
If you like walking, the Tarka Trail is very close. It's good for cycling too. For gardens, RHS Rosemoor is worth a trip. For history, you've got Hartland Abbey or you can take a boat from Bideford to Lundy Island. The local cliff paths are good.
For family days out, The Big Sheep or The Milky Way are both within a 30 minute drive. If you want to go further, the surfing at Bude or the village at Clovelly are both about forty minutes away.
