The Stable is in Parkham. It's detached and part of a small group of three cottages around a yard. The owners live on a working farm next door, which is nice.
It sleeps six. Two bedrooms, but both are big and each has its own bathroom. There's a third toilet downstairs. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well finished.
The garden is private. There's a wood burner for cooler evenings. All the usual stuff is here: WiFi, TV, dishwasher, washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. Parking is right outside.
There's a kids' play area on the farm, and the owners do a tractor and trailer ride around the fields to see the animals. Guests seem to like it.
The local pub, The Bell, is a five minute walk. They do takeaway. There's a thatched pub serving meals about two and a half miles away.
You're about seven miles from the beach at Westward Ho!. It's a long sandy beach, good for surfing. The coast path is accessible from there or from other spots like Bucks Mills or Clovelly. Clovelly is a particular place, all steep cobbled streets with donkeys.
Bideford is the nearest proper town for shops and things. You can get boat trips to Lundy Island from there.
If you need a wet weather day or just like gardens, RHS Rosemoor is about a half hour drive. The Big Sheep and The Milky Way adventure parks are also within that sort of distance.
