This is Myrtle Cottage. It's out in Bastwick, which is in the Norfolk Broads. It's a five star place, but that's not about being posh. It just means it's a really good size and everything's in good order. It sleeps ten across five bedrooms, so it works well for a group.
There are two bathrooms upstairs. The stairs are cottage stairs. They're narrow near the bottom and they're a bit steep. Fine for most, just a heads-up.
You get a big garden that's fully enclosed, which is handy if you've got kids or dogs. Pets are welcome, up to three. There's a hot tub out there and a patio area with a barbecue. Parking is on site and there’s an electric car charger.
Inside, it's open plan on the ground floor. The kitchen has a dishwasher and there's a washing machine too. Bedding and towels are included. There's a games room, which is a bonus if the weather turns.
Bastwick is quiet. The nearest shop is a few minutes' walk. For a pub or a cafe, you'd drive to Potter Heigham, which is about a mile away. The coast at Winterton or Horsey is about a five mile drive. Great beaches and the seals are out there in the winter.
The Broads are right on your doorstep. You can hire boats, kayaks or paddleboards in Potter Heigham to explore the rivers. It's very flat, so good for cycling.
Further afield, you've got Great Yarmouth, Cromer, and Norwich city centre all within a 30 minute drive.
