Little Tern

Little Tern is in Winterton on Sea. It's a converted stable block from the 18th century, so it’s an old building, but it's been done up. You'll get the garden to yourselves, it's enclosed.

It sleeps two, so it’s pretty small. There are two bedrooms but they’re both singles, so it’s not really a couples place. There’s one bathroom with a shower. It’s got a 4 Star rating which means it’s comfortable and well-equipped. Being a bungalow, everything’s on the one level, which is handy.

The place is right in the village. The shop is about 100 yards away, and the pub, which does food, is about 350 yards. You can walk to the beach from here, it’s not far. The path goes through the nature reserve and the sand dunes. That’s where you see the Little Terns. You might see the seals too, especially if you go along the coast to Horsey beach in the winter to see the pups. It's a proper nature spot.

If you want a busier seaside day, Great Yarmouth is about nine miles away. Norwich is much nicer for a day out, it’s got the castle, cathedral, and good shopping. That’s about a 40 minute drive. The Norfolk Broads are close by, maybe six miles to get onto the water.

For facilities, it’s got what you need. There’s a woodburning stove, a washing machine, a TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's a BBQ outside. You can bring one well-behaved dog.

If you’re planning your trip, these sites are useful: National Trust Norfolk and Norfolk Broads.
