Starboard Cottage is a detached thatched place in Winterton on Sea. The thatch is nice but it's the quiet crescent that's the real benefit. It's very peaceful.
It sleeps six, in three bedrooms. Two of them are upstairs, one is on the ground floor. There are two bathrooms, one upstairs and one down. The stairs are the original cottage stairs. They're steep and a bit narrow.
You can walk to the beach. It's sandy with dunes. The dunes are a nature reserve so the walking is good and it's never crowded. You can often see seals from the beach. For a wider area, the Norfolk Broads are about six miles away.
The local pub is about 50 yards away. They do food. There's a shop about 200 yards away for basics.
It's got a 5 Star rating. That means it's well equipped and finished to a high standard. You get a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. The garden is enclosed. Bedding is included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. You can bring up to two dogs.
There's a free parking pass for the beach car park, which is useful in summer. There's also parking on site for one car.
For days out, Great Yarmouth is about nine miles for the traditional seaside things. Norwich is about 40 minutes' drive for the city, castle, and cathedral. If you have children, BeWILDerwood is near Horning, about a 30 minute drive. Horsey Windpump, run by the National Trust, is also nearby.
