Norfolk Broads And Coast, The Beach House

The Beach House is in Hemsby. It's a detached bungalow, right on the dunes between Winterton and Hemsby. You walk out the back gate, across the path, and you're on the beach. The back garden is private, with a patio and a hammock.

It sleeps four. Two double bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. One bathroom has a walk-in shower, the other has a bath with a shower over it. It's a 5 Star property, so it's well-equipped and finished to a high standard. Everything is on one level, so there are no steps inside.

The main living space has big bifold doors that open onto the patio. There's a wood burner for cooler evenings. You've got a dishwasher, washing machine, and parking for two cars on the drive.

You can bring up to two dogs. The garden is enclosed, but it's not totally escape-proof if you have a real Houdini.

The beach is the main thing. It's a wide, sandy beach. You can walk for miles. To the north, you can walk to Winterton-on-Sea. To the south, it's Hemsby. Hemsby has the usual seaside things: cafes, amusements, fish and chips. There's a local pub about a ten-minute walk away.

If you drive, you're about six miles from the edge of the Norfolk Broads. Potter Heigham and Horsey are good places to start. In the winter, you can see the seals at Horsey Gap. Norwich is about half an hour's drive, with the castle, shops, and restaurants.
