Captain's Cottage

This is Captain's Cottage. It's my place in Winterton on Sea, a village on the Norfolk coast. It's thatched and detached, so you've got it to yourselves. It looks like a bit of a chocolate box from the outside, which is nice.

The inside is more modern than you'd think. It's open plan, which feels spacious, but it's still warm when you want it to be. It's a 5 Star place, so it's got everything you'd expect and it's all been finished to a high standard. There are three bedrooms, and each one has its own bathroom, which is a real bonus with six of you.

The beach is the main thing. It's a proper sandy beach with dunes, about a ten minute walk away. You can walk for miles. The seals are out there too, at certain times of year. Just so you know, the stairs are a bit steep in places. It's a cottage.

The village pub is literally a minute's walk around the corner. They do good food. There's a shop a bit further on for basics. The garden is enclosed. Facilities are all there: WiFi, TV, dishwasher, washing machine, and parking for two cars on the drive.

If you want to explore, Great Yarmouth is about twenty minutes' drive for the pier and classic seaside stuff. The Norfolk Broads start a few miles inland if you fancy hiring a boat. Norwich is a good forty-five minute drive for a city day, with the cathedral and shops. For something different with kids, BeWILDerwood is an adventure park in the trees, near Horning.
