The Old Angel
The Old Angel is in Winster, which is a small village in the Peak District. It's a very old place, a former coaching inn from the 1600s. It's attached to another cottage, but you get the whole building to yourselves. It sleeps eighteen people.
Inside, it's got a lot of old beams and floorboards. It feels its age, in a good way. There are six bedrooms and six bathrooms.
It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well-equipped, not a basic bunkhouse. The facilities list covers most things. There's an electric vehicle charger on site.
You get access to the facilities at Harthill Hall, which is about three miles away. That includes pre-booked private sessions in their indoor heated swimming pool and sauna.
The village shop is almost next door. There's a pub a short walk up the road. Right opposite the house is the old Market Hall, which is owned by the National Trust.
For things to do, you're right in the middle of it. Bakewell is close, with its market. Buxton is a bit further, with the opera house. You've got Chatsworth, Haddon Hall, and lots of other big houses within a half-hour drive. Carsington Water is nearby for sailing or cycling. The walking is, of course, everywhere.
You can bring up to four dogs. Bedding and towels are included. The kitchen has a dishwasher. There's a cot and highchair if you need them.
