The Chapel is on the Harthill Hall estate, near Alport in Derbyshire. It's a converted chapel, obviously. It sleeps six, in three bedrooms, and there are two bathrooms. It's a 4 Star property, so it's comfortable and well-fitted.
The building is old, so you get thick stone walls, wooden beams, and flagstone floors. The windows are the original mullion type. It's part of a small courtyard with a few other cottages.
You have access to the estate's leisure facilities. There's an indoor heated swimming pool, a sauna, and a games room. The grounds are about 14 acres, so there's space to walk around. The Peak District National Park starts right outside.
There's a pub about a mile away. The nearest shop is in Bakewell, which is three and a half miles. Bakewell is a proper market town on the River Wye. Good for bakeries and butchers.
For days out, you're very close to some major places. Chatsworth House is about 15 minutes by car. Haddon Hall is similar. Both are worth a visit. There are several National Trust properties within a 30-minute drive, like Hardwick Hall and Kedleston Hall.
The facilities here are good. It has parking, WiFi, a dishwasher, and an enclosed garden. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. They've also put in an electric vehicle charger.
If you want to go walking, Mam Tor and Dovedale are within half an hour. There's a golf course and horse riding about five miles away.
