Rock Mews is a modern house in Bakewell. It's on a quiet side road off the main street, so you're a few minutes' walk from the shops and pubs but it feels a bit tucked away.
It sleeps eight, across four bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, one is an en-suite to the master bedroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's well-finished and comfortable. The stairs to the top floor are a bit steeper than normal house stairs, just so you know.
The kitchen is big and has a sofa area in it. The dining table is in the conservatory, which looks out over the garden and has good views across the town. Downstairs there's a separate games room with a football table, which is handy if you've got kids with you. The garden is a decent size, with a patio and furniture. You can park four cars on the drive, and there's an electric vehicle charger.
You can walk into Bakewell centre in about five minutes. All the usual stuff is there: pubs, cafes, butchers, the bakeries for a pudding. The Monsal Trail starts in the town, which is good for a flat walk or a bike ride. You can hire bikes at Hassop Station.
Chatsworth House is about a ten minute drive away. Haddon Hall is even closer. Buxton and Matlock are both within half an hour if you fancy a look around. For wider planning, the Peak District National Park site is useful.
Facilities: it's got all the main things. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. We allow up to two dogs. There's a cot, highchair and stairgate if you need them. The entrance is wheelchair accessible, but I'd recommend getting in touch to discuss specific needs as the bedrooms are on the upper floors.
