West Lodge is a detached cottage on the edge of Bakewell. It's about a five minute walk into the town centre. You're in the Peak District National Park straight away.
The place sleeps six, in three double rooms. There are two bathrooms, one of which is an ensuite. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's well-finished and comfortable. It's modern inside, good for a family or a group of friends.
Outside, there are two patio areas with seating. One is at the side, the other is up some steps at the back. They're nice spots when the sun's out.
Bakewell has everything you need: shops, pubs, cafes, a market. The Monsal Trail for walking and cycling starts here. It follows an old railway line towards Buxton.
You're well placed for the big houses. Haddon Hall is just outside town. Chatsworth House is about a 20 minute drive. So is Hardwick Hall. Matlock Bath and the Heights of Abraham are about a 25 minute drive.
For facilities, there's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and parking for a couple of cars on the drive. All bedding and towels are included. No pets, I'm afraid.
