Cokaynes

Cokaynes is one of several cottages at Harthill Hall, just outside Alport. It sleeps ten people, but it's only got four bedrooms. That means two of them are bigger, with multiple beds to fit people in. There are two bathrooms.

It's a 4 Star place. That's because it's part of a bigger site with facilities. You get use of the indoor heated swimming pool, a sauna, a games room, and a kids' play area. The grounds are about 14 acres. There's an electric vehicle charger and parking on site.

The cottage itself is in a cobbled courtyard with other properties. It's an old building, so the walls are thick stone, there are oak beams, and the floors are flagstones. The windows are the old mullion type. It's full of character, but that also means some things are a bit quirky. The doorways are low in places, so mind your head. The stairs are typical for a place like this.

You can bring up to three dogs. Bedding and towels are included. There's a dishwasher, TV, and WiFi. We provide a cot and highchair if you need them.

For getting out, you can walk straight from the door into the Peak District. The local pub is about a mile away in Youlgreave. Bakewell is three and a half miles for shops and cafes. Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are very close, maybe a ten or fifteen minute drive. Matlock, Buxton, and Chesterfield are all within half an hour if you need bigger towns.
