River Cottage
River Cottage is in Darley Bridge, on the B5057. It's a stone cottage, detached, right next to the road. So there is traffic, but you're also right by the river. You can hear it from the garden. The garden is enclosed, which is good if you have dogs.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well looked after. The main bedroom has a double bed, the other has twins.
There are two pubs in the village, about a minute's walk. Both serve food and are dog friendly. The nearest shop is about a fifteen minute walk, in Darley Dale.
You're right on the edge of the Peak District. You can walk from the door straight into the national park. It's about half a mile to the boundary. For a bigger day out, The Peak District National Park site has walking routes.
Matlock is three miles away. That's where you'll find the Heights of Abraham cable cars and Gulliver's Kingdom for kids. Bakewell is six miles. Chatsworth House is about a twenty minute drive. Haddon Hall is similar. Carsington Water is close for sailing and cycling. Alton Towers is about half an hour by car.
Inside, it's got what you need. Washing machine, dishwasher, TV. Bedding and towels are included. We have a cot and a highchair if you need them. You can bring up to three dogs.
