South Carolina Farm House
South Carolina Farm House is just outside Tansley village, near Matlock. It's a detached stone house. It sleeps six, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms.
It's got a 4 Star rating. It's a high spec finish, so it feels more like a nice house than an old cottage. The stairs are fine.
You come into one big open room with the kitchen, dining, and living area. The kitchen is large and has an island. There's a log burner and a TV. Upstairs, there's a family bathroom with a free-standing bath and a separate shower. The master bedroom has its own ensuite.
Outside is a courtyard garden with seating. You can park right there.
From the door, you can walk straight into the countryside. The path up to Lumsdale Falls is popular. It's good for cycling too, with off-road tracks nearby.
Matlock Bath is about five minutes drive. It's got the river, the Heights of Abraham cable car, and the chip shops. Their illuminations in autumn are a big event. Bakewell is about 20 minutes away. Chatsworth House is about a 25 minute drive. You can walk from the house into the Peak District.
Facilities wise: it's got wifi, a washing machine, a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. You can bring up to three dogs.
