March Cottage is in Matlock, at the top end of town near Smedley Street. It's a terrace cottage, so you've got neighbours on one side. The key thing is it's right on the edge, so the back garden looks over fields and you can step straight out onto the walking paths.
It sleeps five across three bedrooms. Two of the bedrooms have double beds and one is a single. There's a bathroom upstairs and a shower room downstairs.
The cottage has a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well looked after. It's got everything like a dishwasher and washing machine. There's a wood burner in the front room for colder nights. The garden gets the sun in the afternoon.
You're a five minute walk from the shops and cafes in Matlock. A local pub is about the same distance. For a bigger choice of places to eat, Matlock Bath is a couple of miles down the road. It’s very handy for walking. You can join the Limestone Way or get onto the High Peak Trail and Cromford Canal without using the car.
Within half an hour you've got Bakewell, Chatsworth House, and Haddon Hall. Carsington Water is good for a bike ride or a walk. The National Tramway Museum at Crich is about ten minutes away. Buxton and the Castleton caves are a bit further, maybe 40 minutes depending on traffic.
Facilities are all included: bedding, towels, WiFi, TV. There's bike storage around the back. No pets, I'm afraid.
