Henrys Haunt

Henrys Haunt is a one-bedroom cottage for two people. It's part of Harthill Hall near Alport in Derbyshire. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well looked after.

The cottage is in a courtyard of old stone buildings. It's got thick walls, wooden beams and flagstone floors, so it feels solid. The bedroom and bathroom are both ensuite. There's an open plan living area with a kitchen.

Being on the estate means you can use the shared facilities. There's an indoor heated swimming pool, a sauna and a games room. The grounds are about 14 acres, so there's plenty of space to walk right from your door.

The history here is quite something. The hall dates back to medieval times and even Henry VIII is supposed to have stayed. Your cottage is in a converted part of the old chapel.

A local pub is about a mile away. The nearest shop is in Bakewell, which is three and a half miles from here. Bakewell is a proper market town on the River Wye, good for coffee shops and a wander.

For days out, you're right in the Peak District. Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are very close. There's good walking from the door, or you can drive to places like Mam Tor or Dovedale. Golf and horse riding are available within five miles.

Facilities included are: WiFi, bedding and towels, a dishwasher, on-site parking, and an enclosed patio area. One well-behaved dog is welcome. There's also an electric vehicle charger.
