Brooklands Farm is in Youlgreave. It's an old stone farmhouse, so the walls are thick and you get a real sense of quiet inside. The view from the front is just open farmland. No other houses in the way.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. The bathroom is modern. It's a 3 Star place, so it's clean and comfortable but not fussy.
There are two fireplaces. One's an open fire in the living room, the other is a wood burning stove in the other room. We supply the wood for the stove. The kitchen's been updated.
The stairs are worth mentioning. They're the original farmhouse stairs. They're steep and a bit narrow. Just take your time on them.
The garden is at the front. It gets the sun all day and has that same view over the fields. It's enclosed, so it's safe for a dog. We allow one pet.
You're right on the edge of the village. You can walk down into Bradford Dale and Lathkill Dale from the door. The village centre has three pubs and a couple of small shops. It's about a ten minute walk.
For days out, Bakewell is about ten minutes by car. Chatsworth House is maybe twenty minutes. The whole of the Peak District is on your doorstep. Useful links for planning: Peak District National Park and National Trust Peak District.
Facilities: parking for one car right at the house, a cot and highchair if you need them, bedding and towels are included, and there's a TV. No WiFi, I'm afraid. The signal in the village is patchy at best.
