This is The Manor House in Birchover. It's a detached place from the 16th century. You get the house to yourselves but the grounds, about 14 acres, are shared with my other cottages.
It sleeps fourteen. Six bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. The style inside is what they call shabby chic, with antiques and wood panelling. There are a lot of beams. The stairs are as you'd expect: steep in places, some are spiral, some are narrow.
Because the grounds are shared, you have use of a shared indoor pool, a sauna, a solarium, and a treatment room. There's also a games room on site. You can park right there.
The local pub is about a mile away. For shops, you'll need to go into Bakewell, which is about three and a half miles. It's got everything you need: shops, places to eat, a market. The Monsal Trail is good for a walk. Chatsworth House is about five miles away if you want a proper day out.
For other things to do, Carsington Water is close by for watersports. There's golf and horse riding within five miles. Buxton with its opera house is about a twenty minute drive.
Facilities: it's got a woodburning stove, dishwasher, TV, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. We allow pets, up to four of them.
