Railway Cottage

Railway Cottage is in Longcliffe. It's on your own, detached, next to where I live in the old station house. The views from up here are very good. You can see for miles.

It sleeps four in two double bedrooms. Both have their own bathrooms. One of the beds can be two singles if you need it. It's got a 4 Star rating.

The living room is at one end and the kitchen at the other. It's all on one floor so there are no stairs. The kitchen has what you need. There's a washing machine, TV, and wifi. You park right outside.

Outside is a paved courtyard. It gets the sun in the afternoon. There's a shed for bikes.

The local shop and pub are about a mile away. The pub does food.

You're right on the High Peak Trail here. It's the old railway line, so it's flat and good for walking or cycling without having to drive anywhere. Carsington Water is about ten minutes by car. They do sailing and windsurfing there, and there's a big playground.

Matlock and Matlock Bath are within fifteen minutes. Matlock has shops. Matlock Bath is an old spa town in the gorge. You can get the cable car up to the Heights of Abraham or go to Gulliver's Kingdom. The National Tramway Museum at Crich is also close.

Bakewell is twenty minutes away. Chatsworth House is maybe twenty-five minutes. For a big day out, Alton Towers is about forty minutes' drive.
