The Garden House
The Garden House is in Atlow, which is a small village near Ashbourne in Derbyshire. It's a barn conversion attached to our house, but you have your own entrance and it's completely separate. The barn is old, from the 16th century.
It's for two people. One bedroom upstairs, one bathroom with a shower. It's a 3 Star place, so it's comfortable and clean. The stairs are the original barn ones. They're turn-y and a bit steep, so you need to watch your step.
You get your own garden out the back. It faces south so it gets the sun. You can also wander around our larger garden if you like.
There's a shop and a couple of pubs about two miles away, in the next village. Ashbourne is ten minutes by car. That's where the main supermarkets and more places to eat are.
Location is the main thing here. You're a mile and a half from Carsington Water. Good for walks, cycling, or watching the birds. You can hire bikes there. The Kedleston Hall is close, and Dovedale with the stepping stones is about six miles away. The Peak District National Park site is useful for walking routes.
If you're after a big day out, Alton Towers is about twenty minutes' drive.
What's here: there's a washing machine, TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. We can provide a cot and a highchair if you need them. You can bring two dogs.
