The Haven Lodge
The Haven Lodge is in Mayfield, just outside Ashbourne. It's a detached timber lodge. We had it built as a garden office, then turned it into a holiday let. It's for two people, but the sofa bed in the living area means it can sleep up to four if you need it to.
It's got one proper bedroom with a double bed, and one shower room. The kitchenette has a two-ring hob, a microwave, a small fridge, and a toaster. There's no proper oven. You can manage simple meals.
Outside is a private, enclosed decking area with a table and chairs. It's south-facing, so you get the sun. There's parking for two cars right outside your gate.
The rating is 4 Star. It's clean and modern. The WiFi is fine for emails and browsing.
You're about a five minute walk from the village shop. The pub is about the same distance. They do food. Ashbourne is a ten minute drive. It's a nice market town with supermarkets, cafes, and a few independent shops.
For walking, you can pick up the Tissington Trail or the Manifold Way easily. The Peak District National Park starts just north of Ashbourne. Peak District National Park has the details. Alton Towers is about 15 minutes by car if that's your thing.
You can bring up to two dogs. The garden is enclosed, but it's not huge, so they'd need walks. There's bicycle storage if you bring bikes.
Bedding and towels are included. There's a TV and a washing machine.
