Hollywell Cottages are up near Snelston Common. It's quiet here. You're about five miles outside Ashbourne, so you get the peace but can get to the shops easily enough.
It's a two-bedroom cottage, sleeps four. There's one bathroom upstairs, which we redid a couple of years ago. It's got a bath and a separate shower cubicle.
Downstairs is a kitchen with the usual things: dishwasher, washing machine, and so on. It leads into the dining room, then through to the sitting room. There's a wood burner in there.
A thing to know: the stairs are steep. They're open tread, and quite narrow in places. Just be careful on them.
Outside, there's a garden with a lawn at the front and a courtyard at the back. The view from the back is over the fields, which is nice.
Ashbourne is a proper market town. There are local shops and a few places to eat. It's known as the gateway to Dovedale and the Peak District. The famous stepping stones are a short drive away.
If you're here with children, Alton Towers is about twenty minutes by car. The main thing around here is the walking, though. You're right on the edge of the Peak District.
The cottage has a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean. We provide bedding and towels. There's parking, WiFi, and we've put in an electric vehicle charger. We can provide a highchair and a stairgate if you need them. No pets, I'm afraid.
