This is Hollywell Cottages. It's one of two on Snelston Common, about five miles outside Ashbourne. It's quiet here. You look out over fields.
It sleeps four in two bedrooms. One double, one twin. There's one bathroom upstairs with a bath and a separate shower cubicle. It was done up a couple of years ago. The stairs are typical cottage stairs, a bit steeper than modern ones.
Downstairs, there's a kitchen with the usual things: dishwasher, washing machine, fridge-freezer. It leads into a dining space with a table for four. The sitting room has a wood burner and a couple of sofas.
Outside, there's a bit of garden. A lawn at the front and a courtyard at the back with those views over the fields. Parking is right there. We've also put in an electric vehicle charger.
Ashbourne is the nearest proper town, about a ten-minute drive. It's a market town with shops and places to eat. From there, you're right at the start of the Peak District. Dovedale and the stepping stones are very close.
If you've got children, or are just a big kid, Alton Towers is about twenty minutes away by car.
Facilities are all included: bedding, towels, wifi, electricity. There's a highchair and a stairgate if you need them. No pets, sorry.
