Swallows

Swallows is a barn conversion on our farm. It sleeps two, one bedroom with an en suite bathroom. It’s a 4 Star place, which means it’s comfortable and well looked after, not huge.

You come in through the kitchen. It’s got what you’ll need. The living room has a sofa, a table and chairs by the window, and a TV. The view is over our fields. The bedroom is at the back, quiet.

Outside your front door there’s a bistro set. Across the drive there’s a shared lawn you can use. You can bring one dog.

The cottage is all on the ground floor. There’s parking right outside. We’ve got bike storage if you need it, and a cot and highchair.

We’re in Mayfield. The local shop and pub are about a mile away, in the village. Ashbourne is close, a proper market town with good pubs and shops.

You’re at the southern end of the Peak District here. The Dove Valley and Manifold Valley are on the doorstep for walking. Carsington Water is about a 20-minute drive for sailing or cycling.

Alton Towers is roughly 15 minutes by car if that’s your thing. For a day out, Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are both within half an hour. Bakewell is about 25 minutes away.
