Milkmaids Cottage

Milkmaids Cottage is here in Kniveton. It’s an old place, from about 1750, and it used to be a dairy. It’s attached to our house, but the garden is all yours.

It sleeps six. There are two bedrooms upstairs, one double and one with two singles. One bathroom. It’s a 4 Star place, which means it’s comfortable and well looked after. The walls are stone in places. It’s got wifi.

The stairs are a bit steep, as you’d expect. The garden is decent sized and fully enclosed, which is good if you’ve got kids.

You can walk straight out the door onto footpaths. The fields around here are good for walking. The village pub, The Red Lion, is just down the hill. They do food. Ashbourne is about three miles away for shops.

Carsington Water is very close. You can go sailing or walking there. Dovedale and the stepping stones are about a fifteen minute drive. The Tissington Trail is nearby for cycling.

For a big day out, Chatsworth House is within forty minutes. Alton Towers is about twenty miles away.

We’ve got parking. There’s a washing machine, dishwasher, and a cot and highchair if you need them. All the bedding and towels are included. Sorry, no pets.
