The Smithy
The Smithy is in Brassington, which is a small village up in the hills. It's a detached cottage, so you don't share any walls. The view from the front looks out over the fields and the stone walls.
It sleeps six in three bedrooms. There's one bathroom with a shower. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well-looked-after. The main bedroom has a low beam, you'll need to mind your head.
There are two pubs in the village, both about two minutes walk away. They both serve food. Carsington Water is two miles down the road. You can do sailing or fishing there, or just walk the circuit. It's about eight miles around.
You're in the middle of the Peak District here. For walks, the High Peak Trail starts nearby. For a day out, Chatsworth House is about twenty minutes by car. So is Bakewell. Buxton and Ashbourne are about the same. Alton Towers is roughly half an hour if you've got kids who are into that.
Facilities: it's got a woodburning stove, dishwasher, and WiFi. The garden is enclosed. Parking is right outside. We allow up to two dogs. Bedding and towels are included, and there's a cot and highchair if you need them.
