Robins Nest is on our farm in Cromford. It's a barn we converted about 20 years ago. It sleeps two. One bedroom, one bathroom, and you can bring a dog.
It's a 3 Star place. That means it's clean and has what you need, but it's not a hotel. The walls are thick stone, so it feels solid. The ceiling has the old beams. The stairs to the bedroom are steep, like most barns. You have to watch your head.
You're in a courtyard with two other cottages. You get your own enclosed patio with a table. It's a proper working farm, so you'll see us going about our jobs. The chickens sometimes wander past. You're welcome to walk around the farm tracks.
Cromford's a five minute drive. There's a co-op for food, a couple of cafes, and a few pubs. The Arkwright Mills are there if you like history. Matlock Bath is ten minutes up the road. It's a strange old place, like a seaside town but in the hills. You can walk along the river or go to the aquarium.
You're right in the middle of things here. Peak District National Park starts just up the road. Chatsworth House is about 25 minutes by car. Bakewell is 20 minutes. Carsington Water is 15 minutes for sailing or a walk.
Inside, it's open plan downstairs. There's a kitchen with a dishwasher and washing machine, a table, and a sofa with a TV. The shower works fine. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside.
If you're coming with more people, we have two other cottages next door. They can be booked together.
