Nightingale Cottage is on Leashaw Farm near Whatstandwell. It's in the middle of the farmyard, so you'll see us coming and going with the animals sometimes. It's a pair of cottages, this one and Shire Cottage next door.
You can bring one dog. There's a kitchen garden next to the cottage you're welcome to use.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, one bathroom. It's a 3 Star place, which means it's comfortable and clean but not modernised. The walls are thick stone. The stairs are steep, like in most old cottages.
The farm's about a mile from Whatstandwell, which has a train station on the Derwent Valley Line. There's a shop about three-quarters of a mile away. The pub and a restaurant are a mile down the lane.
You can fish in our pond, which has tench and carp. There's also about half a mile of the River Derwent for trout and grayling if you've got a license.
For walking, you can get straight onto the Cromford Canal towpath. The Peak District is right there. Matlock Bath is ten minutes away by car. You can get to Carsington Water, Chatsworth, and Haddon Hall in about twenty minutes. Bakewell and Ashbourne are about half an hour.
Inside, there's a washing machine, WiFi, and a TV. Bedding is included. We've got a cot and a highchair if you need them. You can park right outside.
