Bee Keepers Cottage

Bee Keepers Cottage is on our farm in Shirland. It's a bungalow, so everything's on one level. You'll have the cottage and garden to yourselves.

It sleeps five. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. One has a bath with a shower over it, the other is just a shower room. It's a 4 Star place, which means it's comfortable and well-equipped. It's wheelchair friendly from the parking area to the front door.

The kitchen is modern and open-plan with the living area. You've got a dishwasher, washing machine, that sort of thing. The doors open out to the garden. There's a woodburning stove for cooler evenings.

Outside, there are a couple of seating areas and a BBQ. The garden looks out over fields. You're welcome to say hello to the horses in the barn next door, but do keep an eye on children around them.

The farm borders a golf course. You can get day passes for that. Footpaths start right from the gate, so you can walk straight out into the countryside.

For a pint or a meal, the nearest pub is about a mile away in Shirland village. Matlock and its attractions are a ten-minute drive. Bakewell is about twenty minutes. Chatsworth House is maybe twenty-five minutes. Hardwick Hall is a similar distance.

If you're bringing dogs, that's fine, up to two. We provide bedding and towels. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them.
