Quarry Cottage is in Lea, which is near Matlock Bath. It's an annexe to our house on the main street. You get your own front door.
Everything's on one floor. There's a king-size bed, a shower room, and an open plan living area with the kitchen. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well-equipped.
The front is open to the road, so it's not a private garden. To the side there's a small seating area with a view over the fields. There's a dog hook out there if you've brought a long lead.
It's very easy for walking. You can just step out the door and go. The Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site is about a mile away. That's where the old water-powered factories are.
Matlock Bath is four miles down the road. It's got cafes, fish and chip shops, and the cable car up to the Heights of Abraham. Bakewell is about seven miles for the puddings and the market.
For facilities: it's all on one level with a step-free entrance, there's a washing machine, WiFi, TV, and parking on site. Bedding and towels are included. We allow up to two dogs.
A couple of links if you're looking for walks or days out: Peak District National Park and National Trust Peak District.
