Linden Cottage is in Matlock. It's an 18th century place attached to our house. You get the whole cottage and the garden, which is south facing so it catches the sun.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs, one bathroom downstairs. It's a 3 Star place, so it's clean and comfortable but not fancy. The stairs are old cottage stairs, so they're a bit steep and narrow.
The view from the front is the main thing. You look straight across the valley to Riber Castle and the Heights of Abraham.
There's a village shop and a pub about 200 yards away. You can walk into Matlock town centre in about ten minutes. Matlock Bath is a mile down the road. They have the cable cars and Gulliver's Kingdom there for kids.
A lot of the big sights are within half an hour's drive. Chatsworth House is about 20 minutes away. So is Haddon Hall. Crich Tramway Museum is about 15 minutes. Carsington Water is good for sailing or a walk, that's about 20 minutes.
Facilities wise: you've got parking right outside. The driveway's been redone so it's easier to get on. There's a washing machine, WiFi, and a cot if you need it. Bedding and towels are included. The garden has a patio with furniture. You can store bikes.
