Poppy Cottage
Poppy Cottage is in Bonsall, a village in the Peak District. It's a detached cottage, so no shared walls. It's an old place from the 1600s but it's been looked after.
It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean. The stairs are narrow and steep, which is normal for a cottage this old. You'll want to watch your step.
The garden is quite interesting. It's on three different levels going up the hill behind the house. There's a patio and a summer house. The view from the top tier is good, looking out over the village.
There are two pubs in the village, about a hundred yards away. One does food. The local shop is two hundred yards. For a bigger shop, Matlock is about four miles.
You're right on the edge of the Peak District National Park here. Good walking and cycling starts from the door. Carsington Water is about seven miles away for sailing and windsurfing. Matlock Bath is nearby, with the cable car up to the Heights of Abraham. Cromford Mills is a short drive and worth a look if you like industrial history.
As for facilities: it's got a woodburning stove, a dishwasher, a washing machine, WiFi, and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking for one car on site. Pets are welcome, up to three. There's an enclosed garden.
