Poppy Cottage
Poppy Cottage is in Bonsall, which is a small village in the Peak District. It's a detached stone cottage, built in the 1600s. It sleeps four, two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating. It's comfortable but not flashy.
The cottage is right on the village street. There's a pub about a hundred yards away, and a shop two hundred yards. Both are handy.
The garden is out the back. It's on three levels, like terraces. There's a patio area and a summer house. The views over the village and the hills are really good.
Inside, it's got everything you'd need. Washing machine, dishwasher, a woodburning stove for cooler evenings. The stairs are steep, because it's an old cottage. The WiFi works fine.
You're allowed up to three dogs. There's on-site parking for one car. Bedding and towels are provided.
For things to do, you're right on the edge of the Peak District National Park. Good walking and cycling starts from the door. Carsington Water is about seven miles for sailing and windsurfing.
Matlock and Cromford are only a few minutes' drive. Cromford has the Arkwright Mills. Matlock Bath has the cable car up to the Heights of Abraham. The National Trust has a few places nearby like Hardwick Hall. Chatsworth House is about a 25 minute drive.
